Unrivaled announced on Sept. 8 that it will stop by Boston to kick off Season Three. The season opener commences Jan. 8, 2027, in Boston. This signals Unrivaled’s success during Season Two across cities, with Philadelphia among them. Speaking of Philadelphia, Unrivaled will return to Philly in 2027. What a milestone for the basketball community and Unrivaled to visit more cities—eight cities, to be exact.
The thrill of having more fans across the nation and having tour stops is unbelievable for the basketball community and players. Unlike Season One, which is set in Miami (the headquarters), the games are now in various locations. Season One was a success in Miami; however, now more fans can attend in different cities. Everyone is excited, including Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey.
Here is what she had to say regarding Unrivaled having games in Boston:
“Massachusetts is proud to be home to the greatest sports fans in the world, and we are thrilled to welcome Unrivaled to Boston for its first-ever games at TD Garden.”
“This is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the phenomenal athletes who are helping take women’s basketball to new heights and to showcase Boston as a city that embraces women’s sports. We can’t wait to tip off an exciting new season and welcome fans from across the region to cheer on some of the best basketball players around.”
Glen Thornborough, President of TD Garden and EVP/COO of the Boston Bruins, had this to say:
“We’re proud to welcome Unrivaled to Boston and showcase some of the top talent in women’s basketball.”
“The fans have consistently shown their passion for women’s sports, and we’re excited to continue to prioritize and support the growth and visibility for women’s sports at TD Garden.”
Boston is a well-known basketball city and having Unrivaled in Boston will be no different. Women’s basketball has been on the rise and it’s only getting better each year. The tour in Boston will be just as memorable as the one in Philadelphia.
The games will be simulcast on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max, with the start time subject to change and participating clubs to be announced at a later date, per the press release.
