Ahead of their recent home stand, the Seattle Storm had just one win to three losses as all three of those losses were by double-digits. Following the 89-78 loss to the Fever on May 17, the Storm kicked off their four-game home on May 20 against the Connecticut Sun at Climate Pledge Arena. Seattle defeated Connecticut on the road back on May 10 for their first win of the season.
Sun Vs. Storm (May 20)
At the end of the first half, Connecticut held a take a 46 – 41 lead over Seattle. Guard Natisha Hiedeman led the Storm with 14 points as forward Mackenzie Holmes scored 10. Rookie forwards Nell Angloma and Raegan Beers led the Sun with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
With three seconds remaining in the highly contested game, guard-forward Kennedy Burke hit the game-winning layup. The Sun would win it by a score of 80 – 78, handing the Storm their third consecutive loss.
Hiedeman led all scorers with 20 points and adding five assists. Holmes finished with 18 points along with six rebounds as guard Jade Melbourne scored 11 points. Guard Zia Cooke contributed 10 points in the contest.
Connecticut rookie guard Charlisse Leger-Walker led the team with 16 points while Angloma and Burke each had 15 points. Also, center Aaliyah Edwards had 12 points as Beers finished with 10 in the victory.
Sun Vs. Storm (May 22)
Although the matchup was close just a few days ago, Seattle made certain that would not be the case here. The Storm took a 37 – 28 at halftime and would end their losing streak with a 77 – 59 victory. Without question, the duo of Cooke and rookie guard Flau’jae Johnson took control as they combined for 42 of Seattle’s 77 points.

Cooke scored a game-high 25 points with five boards while Johnson had a career-high 17 points as she added seven rebounds and five assists. Hiedeman put up 11 points and six assists in the win. For Connecticut, forward Diamond Miller led the way with 13 points as Edwards scored 10 points.
Mystics Vs. Storm (May 24)
Seattle welcomed the Washington Mystics and put on an offensive showcase at Climate Pledge Arena. After taking a lead of 48 – 37 over Washington at halftime, Seattle stormed away with a 97 – 85 win.
Hiedeman went four-of-six from beyond the arc as she scored a game-high 24 points and five assists. Johnson tied her career-high with 17 points while grabbing six rebounds. Next, center Stefanie Dolson added 16 points as Cooke scored 10 points. Lastly, rookie center Awa Fam made her WNBA debut, scoring 10 points in over 20 minutes of action.

Guard Sonia Citron scored 16 points for the Mystics, going 10-of-11 from the free-throw line. Forward Kiki Iriafen and guard Georgia Amoore had 13 points apiece while center Shakira Austin had 12 points.
Mystics Vs. Storm (May 27)
Here, the Mystics looked to get back into the win column on Wednesday evening as the defense was on display. Washington held Seattle to just 29 points in the first half as they scored 48.
In the end, the Mystics won it by a 78 – 64 score, holding the Storm to 34.9 percent from the field. Hiedeman was the lone player in double figures in points with 15 for Seattle.
Austin notched a double-double for Washington with 18 points and 13 boards. Forward Michaela Onyenwere had 14 points as Iriafen scored 13 points with seven assists in the win.
What is Next for Seattle
On May 30, the Storm travel up north once again to face the Toronto Tempo as they lost their first meeting on May 13. Afterwards, they begin Commissioner’s Cup play versus the Dallas Wings on June 1 in Arlington, Texas.
