Here, the start of the Athletes Unlimited Championship Season had a weather delay. The first two games of the season will be played on Monday with no fans in attendance. That being said, Games Three and Four were completed as both matchups were low scoring. The teams scored a combined 11 runs. Here are the recaps for the games.

Team Denham, led by pitcher Alyssa Denham, took all seven innings to win 4 –3 over Shannon Rhodes and her team. Infielder Anissa Urtez knocked in the game’s first run with an RBI in the bottom of the third inning. Next, Team Rhodes put across three runs in the fifth inning.

The team captain hit a two-run single while Bubba Nickles had an RBI sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the inning, Afterwards, Morgan Zerkle blasted a solo homer for Denham’s squad to make it a 3 –2 affair. Zerkle led the team with three hits.

Gwen Svekis tied the game with an RBI due to a fielding error, scoring Hannah Flippen. Tied up in the bottom of the seventh, Urtez’s second hit of the matchup would be a game-winning RBI single.

Denham threw three innings to get the win while Sydney Littlejohn-Watkins picked up the loss for Team Rhodes.

All things considered, lefty Taylor McQuillin and righty Kathryn Sandercock shut down Haylie McCleney’s squad, allowing five hits. McQuillin allowed the lone run in the top of the first in the form of an RBI single by Sierra Romero. The left-hander struck out seven batters in four innings of work as she got the win.

As for Sandercock, she impressed in her Athletes Unlimited debut, tossing three scoreless innings with a strikeout. Dejah Mulipola and her team supplied all their offense in the bottom of the third. In this case, Mulipola hit a single to bring across Jazmyn Jackson as Tori Vidales slammed a two-run shot to left field.

It is important to note that Kelsey Harshman was the lone player on Team Mulipola with multiple hits with three.
