EA Sports to add NWSL and UWCL to FIFA 23

For the first time ever, fans will be able to play FIFA 23 as teams from the NWSL. EA Sports announced that they will add the 12 teams in an update for all platforms on March 15.

EA Sports has a licensing partnership with the NWSLPA, which means that all players in the league will be included in the game. This means that fans can play as superstars like Sophia Smith and Debinha or their other favorite players. The new update also includes a special NWSL broadcast experience for matches that include two NWSL teams.

The NWSL will join teams from England’s WSL and France’s Arkema D1 leagues in FIFA 23. The game also features select national teams, including the USWNT, Mexico, England, and more. All women’s club teams will be available to play in Kick-Off, Tournament Mode, Online Sessions, and Online Friendly matches.

Fans are hoping that EA Sports will eventually add other leagues like the Frauen-Bundesliga and Liga F to FIFA 23. So far, there don’t appear to be plans to add those leagues, but a few more European teams are coming. EA Sports also announced that they are adding the UEFA Women’s Champions League to the game. This means that VfL Wolfsburg, Juventus, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Real Madrid will be added to FIFA 23. The UWCL will be available in Tournament Mode and Kick-Off. Fans can also use the four new European teams in Online Sessions and Online Friendlies.
