Dallas Wings head coach Latricia Trammell filled out the rest of her coaching staff on Monday. The Wings hired assistant coaches April Schilling and Courtney Paris. Brandi Poole was added back in November.

April Schilling

Schilling coached in the WNBA before with the Indiana Fever in 2020. Recently, Schilling was the head coach at Bella Vista College Prep in Arizona. She also spent time as an advanced scout for the Minnesota Lynx.

“I have long admired April’s relentless pursuit of coaching and teaching the game of basketball,” Trammell said. “She has experience at all levels of basketball and is an elite instructor when it comes to the Xs and Os of the game. She will provide tremendous insights to our team and I am thrilled to welcome her to Dallas.”

Courtney Paris

Paris played for the Tulsa Shock, Wings, and Seattle Storm for ten years in the WNBA. She won a championship with the Storm in 2018. Paris joined the Oklahoma women’s basketball team as an assistant coach in the 2020-21 season. The former WNBA player also played college basketball at Oklahoma and is their all-time leader in points and rebounds.

“I’m incredibly fortunate that we have someone like Courtney joining the staff, as she brings a wealth of experience from the collegiate and professional ranks that will benefit our players tremendously,” Trammell said. “Her resume as a player speaks for itself and I cannot wait to watch her grow as a coach and teacher here in Dallas. I know our team will view her as an invaluable resource.”

Poole served as an assistant coach of the Connecticut Sun the past five seasons, helping the team advance to the WNBA Finals two times during her tenure (2019, 2022).

“I am thrilled to add Brandi to my staff. With her extensive and successful coaching record, she is going to be an invaluable member of our team,” Trammell said. “Brandi’s ability to work with players individually, as well as scout and prepare for opponents has earned her the utmost respect of executives, coaches, and players around our league. She has an unbelievable work ethic, high basketball IQ and incredible passion for our game. She’s a vital addition to our Wings family as we chase our championship aspirations.”

Also on the Wings staff will be Zak Buncik and Preston Smith; both were with Dallas last year. Buncik will be the player development coach, and Smith will be the strength and conditioning coach.
