The House of Horrors: WNBA Edition

It’s October, and that means Halloween is here. The spookiest time of the year means it’s time for Pumpkin Spice, Fall Weather, and Horror Movies. In every Horror Movie, there’s a killer, just like on the basketball court. Welcome to the House of Horrors, WNBA Edition.

Ms. Carrie White

Let the games begin, first up. We have Courtney Vandersloot. Sloot as most would call her is a monster at the point guard position. She has led the league in assists for the past five years. Vandersloot’s passing abilities separate her from most guards in the WNBA, it’s almost as if she is controlling the ball with her mind. Just like Ms. Carrie White, Vandersloot can control everything on the basketball court with her telekinesis-like powers.

1-2 CP’S COMING FOR YOU!

Welcome to Her World, Chicago, that is Candace Parker came home and brought the city of Chicago its first basketball championship since the 1998 Bulls. Parker, who is known for her versatility, can hurt you in multiple ways on the floor. Parker can score from the inside or out. She also handles the ball and slashes through the defense to get to the rim. Freddy Krueger would love to have CP3 on his team. Freddy, who like Parker, is versatile and kills victims in their dreams and reality. Parker, who has had an outstanding 14-year career and similar to Freddy Krueger, has given many players nightmares!

HELLO DT

Diana Taurasi is one of the greatest basketball players ever. At 39 years old, Taurasi is still killing opponents, letting Diana get hot from 3 or anywhere else on the court is a bad thing. What makes Diana, so special is the mind game, she can use to make any match up personal, to give herself a competitive edge. Diana can take over a game and will eat a team defense up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Hannibal Lecter wouldn’t dare to go against Taurasi, if even with some similar traits, Hannibal would also bow down to the goat in the end.

YOU’LL FLOAT TOO

Liz Cambage appears to us in so many forms, she’s a DJ, a model, businesswoman along with being a dominant center on the basketball court. Liz off-court is fun and vibrant. You can always catch Liz having a great time. Now, you won’t find Cambage pulling any kids into a sewer hole soon. But Pennywise and Liz know how to have a fun wonderful time while killing their opponents.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SCARY MOVIE

Slash Dash to the basket, she goes. That’s what Kahleah Copper did to the defenses in the WNBA all season. Copper, who finished over 50% around the rim, was unstoppable in the WNBA Finals. The only person who could stop Copper was Copper. With her quick first step, Kahleah had defenders on their heels as she drove to the basket. Like Ghost face in the movie Scream, Cooper had no problem with slashing the hearts of her defenders.

ITS JUST CHILD’S PLAY

She may be small, but Courtney Williams packs a fatal punch. With the most efficient mid-range game in the WNBA, Williams has made herself a household name. It hasn’t constantly been sunshine and rainbows for Williams in her career. But she repeatedly pulls herself from the ashes to prove her doubters wrong. Just like Chucky, the small but dangerous Williams will always find a way to come back because “You Just Can’t Keep A Good Girl Down.”
