Without question, the popularity of women’s sports is on the rise and the AUSL is a major part of it. The best players in the country showcased their skills to softball fans across popular stadiums in its inaugural season. Now, the league will take its talents to one of the more well-known baseball stadiums this summer.
The defending AUSL champions, the Utah Talons, will face the Carolina Blaze in a three-game series. It will take place from June 25 – 27 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
AUSL Commissioner Kim Ng shared how significant this series is for fans and players alike:
“Durham Bulls Athletic Park is one of the most iconic settings in baseball, and it provides a great stage for our players and for fans across the region to experience professional softball.”

the AUSL Signature Series at Durham Bulls Athletic Park features the Carolina Blaze hosting the defending AUSL Champion Utah Talons from June 25–27.

Fans can watch Games One (June 25) and Three (June 27) between the Talons on ESPN at 7:00 pm ET and 2:00 pm ET, respectively. Speaking of players, it will a homecoming of sorts for two of the players on the Blaze roster. In this case, Infielder Ana Gold and pitcher Jala Wright played softball collegiately at Duke in Durham.
When Does the AUSL Season Commence?
In less than two months, the sophomore season of the AUSL will start on June 9 with a triple-header. The Portland Cascade, one of two new teams in the league, will face the Blaze at the Smith Family Stadium in Durham.
Next, the other new team, the Oklahoma City Spark, welcome the Texas Volts to Tom Heath Field in Oklahoma City. Lastly, the Chicago Bandits travel to the Dumke Family Softball Stadium in Salt Lake City to face the Talons.
Ultimately, the season will conclude in the Lone Star State at David Diamond in College Station, Texas where a champion will be crowned.
