A sensational first series of AUX Softball

Without a doubt, Series One of AUX Softball gave us everything you could ever ask for. It was fun to watch, whether it was walk-off wins, great defense, or homers everywhere. In addition, Series One gave us 13 homers and 74 runs scored as the bats were out in San Diego. Now, let’s look at how games five and six went and who’ll be captains in Series Two.

All things considered, the runs came at a premium when compared to the first four games of AUX Softball. All of the offense came in the first three innings as Team Eberle, led by pitcher Carrie Eberle, scored the first runs of the game. Shortstop Caleigh Clifton hit a two-run ground-rule double in the first inning to put Eberle’s team up early.

Pitcher Aleshia Ocasio’s team slammed two home runs in the top of the second inning for their first runs. First, Danielle Gibson hit a solo rocket to right field, while Sydney Romeo slammed a two-run homer in the inning. Next, outfielder Megan Wiggins added another run for Team Eberle on a single to right field.

The final two runs of the game came in the top of the third off the bats of Gibson and infielder Nadia Taylor. For Gibson, her solo shot was her second of the game, earning her MVP 1 honors and 60 points. As for Taylor, her two-hit effort garnered her MVP 2 of the game and 40 points. Pitcher Rachel Garcia picked up a win for Ocasio’s squad and the game’s MVP 3 as Ocasio picked up the save.

Game Six: A Late Surge Leads Team Chidester over Team Eberle 6-3

To begin, outfielder Haylie McCleney hit a groundout to second base, scoring infielder Andrea Filler in the second inning. In the third inning, Eberle’s squad tied the game 1-1 on an RBI single by outfielder Megan Wiggins. What’s more, Wiggins added another RBI in the bottom of the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly.

Suddenly, Chidester’s team found the offense in their half of the sixth inning. In total, they scored five runs. Filler started off with a homer to left while catcher Dejah Mulipola and infielder Sam Fischer each added two RBIs.

Mulipola got MVP 1 honors while Filler earned MVP 3 honors for their respective efforts. Designated player Gwen Svekis added an RBI single in the seventh inning for Eberle’s team, but it wasn’t enough.

Righty Sydney Littlejohn Watkins pitched four and a third innings for Chidester’s team, getting MVP 3 honors. Furthermore, she allowed seven hits and struck out three.

The Captains for AUX Softball Series Two

Without delay, your Series Two captains are Mulipola (Team Gold), Fischer (Team Orange), and Gibson (Team Blue).
