Natasha Cloud is Heading to Chitown

On a Monday afternoon, the world was awakened by some incredible news: Natasha Cloud has signed with the Chicago Sky. Fans and media had been in shock for the past month over the champion guard remaining unsigned before today. Many were concerned and disappointed that Cloud wasn’t on any team before or during the preseason. However, the wait is now over, and everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. Cloud joining the Sky significantly changes the dynamics of the team.

Natasha embodies grit, culture, passion, competitiveness, and awareness, making her one of the most beloved figures in basketball, both as a teammate and fan favorite. Chicago already has a good backcourt with Skylar Diggins, DiJonai Carrington, and Courtney Vandersloot. Speaking of Carrington, she is currently injured, and her return timeline is unclear for now. Chicago acquiring Cloud is a game-changer not only for the team but also for the city of Chicago. Natasha’s footprint in every city and team she played in has left an unforgettable impact.

The Sky waived three players on Monday: Hailey Van Lith, Latasha Lattimore, and Tonie Morgan. The leaves the backcourt with Jacy Sheldon, Sydney Taylor, Aicha Coulibaly, Gabriela Jaquez, and Rachel Banham. A young core of players that Cloud can mentor, allowing them to learn from a champion like her. It’s important to remember that, with the new CBA, each team can carry 14 players, which includes two development spots. Natasha’s time in Chicago will be special for the 2026 season.

The Sky’s regular season game begins on Saturday, May 9, at 9:00 PM ET against the new expansion team, the Portland Fire.
