Massive Number of Trees Planted in AUX Softball

AUX Softball partnered with Aspiration, an organization that’s committed to planting 10 trees for every run scored. In this instance, games fifteen and sixteen yielded plenty of trees as the offense went off historically. The leaderboard looks much different thanks to the efforts with two more games after these. Here is the recap of the record-breaking day at Rosemont.

Game Fifteen: Team Garcia Makes History in a 15 – 4 Win over Team Leach

Without question, pitcher Rachel Garcia is in it to win it as her squad had an AUX-record 18 hits. Garcia added two RBIs to help her cause in this matchup. Moreover, the eight runs they plated in the bottom of the fifth is also a league record. Haylie McCleney and Sam Fischer equaled the AUX record with four hits each as they combined for five RBIs.

Anissa Urtez knocked in three runs for Team Garcia, two of which came on a homer. Garcia and Victoria Hayward each had two RBIs while Nadia Taylor added an RBI double. Odicci Alexander allowed four runs on six hits in five and two-thirds innings in the circle.

Aubrey Leach’s team had a bright spot in Mia Davidson, who hit a two-run homer. Sydney McKinney and Lilli Piper each had an RBI in the loss. In total, 19 trees will be planted due to the offensive firepower.

Game Sixteen: Team Warren edged out Team Garcia with an 8 –7 victory

Garcia’s team had a 7 – 6 lead entering the seventh and final inning over Jessi Warren’s team. However, that all changed when Tori Vidales stepped up to the plate and slammed a home run to left field. The two-run blast gave Team Warren a lead they would never relinquish.

Speaking of home runs, Taylor Edwards hit two solo shots in this game. Caleigh Clifton hit a two-run homer also. Courtney Gano and Warren each had an RBI to round out the scoring.

Yet, Team Garcia found the long ball as McCleney, Taylor, and Delanie Wisz each had one. Taylor’s was a three-run homer to center field in the bottom of inning number five. In addition, Hayward and Urtez had RBIs for Garcia’s squad. Overall, 15 more threes will be planted thanks to this game.
