Plum earned a starting spot this year for the Aces and has become one of the league’s top players in a short time. Game Performance

Earning a spot for the All-Star game was simply not enough for Plum. She fell short in both challenges on Saturday, so when it came time for the game Sunday, she brought the energy. When watching Plum, you can clearly tell she wanted a win and an MVP trophy at the end of the game. Early on, Plum came into the game knocking down shots and playing like fans are used to seeing when she is in an Aces uniform. Plum had a phenomenal game leading all teams in scoring. She ended the game with 30 points in only 22 minutes of playing time.

During this stellar performance, Plum shot 12-18 (66.7%) from the field and 5-11 (45.5%) from 3-point. She also made a special All-Star shot worth 4 points to round off her 30-point game. With this performance, Kelsey tied with WNBA legend Maya Moore with points made in a single WNBA All-Star game, a record set in 2015. In addition, Plum set the record for most field goals made in a WNBA All-Star game with 12 field goals. She passed both Shoni Schimmel (2014) and Nneka Ogwumike (2017), who held the record with 11 field goals made. Kelsey was a huge part of Team Wilson’s 134-112 win over Team Stewart. Overall it was a great game where Kelsey Plum earns MVP title in her first All-Star Game appearance.

About Aislyn Jowers

I've grown up going to NCCAW games, when Tiffany Mitchell was drafted to the Indiana Fever in 2016 it opened the doors to the WNBA for me. Ever since then, I have been an avid watcher of both the WNBA and NCAAW games. Instead of bothering my family and friends with my thoughts about the game, I decided I will write about it instead.
