ESPN+ PHF Agreement Renewed

Today, the PHF announced that their streaming agreement is renewed for US and Canadian markets. ESPN+ will be the official home for the PHF for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons. TSN will continue to provide live coverage for Canadian viewers.

The Details

The two-year agreement is a monumental move for the PHF. Twitch was previously the home for all PHF games prior to their landmark deal with ESPN+ last season. The deal gives exclusive US streaming rights for all PHF events to ESPN. All regular season games, special events, and playoff games are broadcast via ESPN+. Last season, the PHF Isobel Cup Final between the Boston Pride and Connecticut Whale aired on ESPN2. In league history, the 2022 Isobel Cup Final became the first televised broadcast of a PHF game.

In Canada, TSN will remain the home for all league activities. Games are available to all TSN subscribers on their five television feeds and streamed via tsn.ca and the TSN app.

On the international front, PHF games will be available as a part of the ESPN International service where available in Europe. PHF fans can watch on the ESPN Player in the Middle East and Africa. In Latin America, games are viewable with Star+. Caribbean viewers can view games using the ESPN Player in the ESPN app. Finally, Oceania viewers can use Watch ESPN using the ESPN App.

Continuing Support

ESPN+ is the hub for a plethora of sports leagues. ESPN is continually renewing its commitment to advancing women’s sports. Not only with agreements like this one for the PHF, but also in announcing that the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship game will move to ABC for 2023 and 2024. Airing women’s sports on broadcast television will introduce the game to many new viewers.

As October quickly approaches, we are all anxiously awaiting the completion of PHF rosters, the unveiling of PHF Montreal’s name and color scheme, and of course, the Season 8 schedule. Stay tuned. More updates to come as they are available.
