Dejah Mulipola to Defend AU Crown Against the Best

All things considered, Dejah Mulipola put on a masterclass in last season’s AU Softball, taking home the championship. She has signed on to not only defend her championship. Mulipola will also play in Season Two of AUX Softball. The talented catcher placed third in AUX Softball in 2022.

Some returning players include outfielders Morgan Zerkle, Victoria Hayward, Megan Wiggins, and Amanda Lorenz. Also, infielders Sis Bates, Sam Fischer, Sydney Romero, and Tori Vidales will be there to compete once again.

Moreover, Mulipola will see some familiar faces in the circles this season. Lefties Haylie Wagner and Taylor McQuillin are playing this upcoming season. Wagner struck out 13 batters over 20.1 innings in the Championship season in 2022. McQuillin placed second in the season with 46 strikeouts in 35.1 innings.

Fans will also see the 2021 champion in righty Aleshia Ocasio this season. She looks to improve from her her 7th-place finish last season.

Top Collegiate Competition for Mulipola

Besides the seasoned stars returning in 2023, there will be some young and talented players making their AU Softball debut. Sydney McKinney, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 Softball College Draft, will look to make an immediate impact.

McKinney was one of the best players in all of college softball this season. She possessed a .520 batting average with 33 RBIs and five homers this season. UCLA pitcher Megan Faramino is a two-time Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year.

She had a 1.42 ERA with 232 strikeouts in 172 innings for the Bruins this season. Mulipola has quite the task to overcome in the current and future stars softball has to offer.
