AU Hoops and More Sensational Talent

As the second season of AU Hoops gears up, more talent is coming to the league. In total, eight more players will be joining in 2023. One of these newcomers is guard Lexie Hull, the sixth overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft. Hull played in 26 games for the Indiana Fever in her rookie season. She averaged 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds, shooting 35.7 percent from 3-point range in four games back in August.

In addition, the former Stanford Cardinal took home gold as a member of the 2022 Women’s 3×3 AmeriCup squad. Hull will be joined by two of her Fever teammates in AU Hoops next year: guard Kelsey Mitchell and forward NaLyssa Smith. Mitchell played in 11 games last season in the league, finishing in 11th place. The former Ohio State Buckeyes was a game MVP nine times last season, good for the second-most.

Like Hull, it will be Smith’s first season in Athletes Unlimited. Also, she won gold with the Women’s 3×3 AmeriCup squad.

Another familiar for some WNBA fans is that of Crystal Bradford, who started her career with the Los Angeles Sparks. Bradford last played in the WNBA back in the 2021 season for the Atlanta Dream. In November 2021, she was suspended by the WNBA for her role in an altercation outside a club in Atlanta. However, Bradford was signed by the Chicago Sky before the start of the 2022 season but didn’t play.

It’s important to note that Bradford will be reunited with her former Dream teammate in Courtney Williams. Williams played in AU Hoops’ inaugural season, starting in 12 games. Williams was also suspended along with Bradford for the incident outside an Atlanta club last year.

When Does AU Hoops Officially Start?

All in all, basketball fans can see Hull, Bradford, and other talented superstars starting Feb. 23, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. Let’s see if any more players will be added to the already-stacked roster of basketball talent.
