Another PHF Signing Announced

Another day, another PHF signing.

Yesterday, the Toronto Six announced that they have re-signed Shiann Darkangelo, the team captain. Darkangelo will be returning to the Canadian team for their third season. It is also the third season the Darkangelo will be a member of the Six.

Season 7 was Darkangelo’s best year to date in the league. She averaged a point-per-game with 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists). She was also a league leader at the face-off dot. Darkangelo is no stranger to the PHF, and has a championship pedigree to boot. She won the Isobel Cup with the Buffalo Beauts, and has impressive career stats in her 55 games in the league with 48 points (25 goals, 23 assists). Darkangelo is no stranger to playing professional women’s hockey.

Darkangelo’s Playing History

Shiann Darkangelo has a long history with the PHF. She was a member of the Connecticut Whale in the inaugural season of the then NWHL. The following season, Darkangelo signed with the Buffalo Beauts where she hoisted the Isobel Cup as an Alternate Captain for the team. The following two seasons, Darkangelo moved to the now defunct CWHL, playing for the Kunlan Red Star and then the Toronto Furies. After the CWHL ceased operations, Darkangelo played for Team GTA West in the PWHPA. She was announced as one of the first five players signed by the Toronto Six when the franchise began operations in the 2020-2021 season of the PHF. She has worn the ”C” for the team since.

Six fans have a lot to be excited about with her return to the team, including some pretty legendary snipes. Opposing goaltenders, beware.
