The 2023 WNBA Draft Heads to the Big Apple in April

On April 10th, the 2023 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm will take place at Spring Studios, New York. The event will be presented live on ESPN with exclusive coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT. What’s more, the draft will be accessible on the ESPN App. The WNBA Draft night events will happen as the future stars of the league present their character and fashion sense on the well-known “Orange Carpet.”

In addition, the WNBA Draft prospects will travel to the Empire State Building for a lighting gathering to observe the draft. That being said, who are some of the prospects that will be in attendance in April?

Who are some of the top prospects in the 2023 WNBA Draft?

South Carolina Gamecocks forward Aliyah Boston, the number one overall pick in many WNBA mock drafts, will be in New York. The Naismith award-winner was the Most Outstanding Player in the 2022 NCAA tournament. Next, Maryland Terrapins guard Diamond Miller is seen as a top-five pick in the draft. Miller is in the school’s top 10 in career points and blocks.

Heading west, UCLA standout guard Charisma Osbourne is a name to watch as she will likely hear her name called by commissioner Cathy Englebert. Osbourne shoots nearly 40 percent from the field and over 80 percent from the charity stripe. Lastly, University of Tennessee star Rickea Jackson will be in the Big Apple.

Jackson transferred to the Volunteers from Mississippi State ahead of this season. She is currently second in the SEC in points as well as third in field goal percentage. The Indiana Fever is on the clock with the top pick in the 2023 WNBA draft. We will see if Boston is indeed the top pick as lives will change forever come April.
