The Historic AUSL Expansion and Allocation Draft Is In The Books

As the AUSL has expanded to six teams with the addition of the Oklahoma City Spark and Cascade, more history was made. On Monday, both of the new teams added the first player to their roster in the Expansion draft. The Spark took Utility player Maya Brady No. 1 overall after spending last season with the Talons.

Brady had a .647 batting average with a .727 OBP (On-Base Percentage) in six games. In all, the former UCLA star collected 15 bases along with five RBIs. Next, the Cascade took former Oklahoma Sooner pitcher Sam Landry with their first pick in the Expansion draft. Landry spent last season with the Volts, having a 4.72 ERA (Earned Run Average) with 28 strikeouts in 10 games.

Shifting to the Allocation draft, the Cascade went with pitcher Kelly Maxwell with the top pick. Maxwell went 23-2 in 36 appearances with the Sooners in 2024. The left-hander struck out 164 batters with an ERA of 1.94.

The Rosters For Each AUSL Team Post-Draft

In the case of the Spark, they shored up their infield by taking Sydney Romero, Jessi Warren, Sydney McKinney. What’s more, adding a huge bat in Bubba Nickles-Camarena.

For the Cascade, the pitching looks deep with the addition of right-handers Payton Gottshall and Carley Hoover. Infielders Sis Bates and Tori Vidales, catcher Mia Davidson, and outfielder Korbe Otis are great adds.

Moreover, the Volts look strong with Rachel Garcia and Alyssa Denham in the circle while having the bats of Amanda Lorenz, Dejah Mulipola, and Tiare Jennings.

Shifting to the Blaze, Aleshia Ocasio, Devyn Netz, Keilani Ricketts, and Emma Lemley lead the loaded pitching staff. Additionally, Kayla Kowalik, Baylee Klingler and Aubrey Leach will help.

Finally, the Bandits look to get back to AUSL Championship game with pitchers Lexi Kilfoyl and Taylor McQuillin. Also, the offense of Jocelyn Alo, Erin Coffel, Skylar Wallace, and Morgan Zerkle.

Last, but not least, the defending champion Talons look to run it back with players Montana Fouts, Megan Faraimo, Georgina Corrick, Bri Ellis, and Aliyah Andrews.

All six teams will add more talent to their rosters in the AUSL College Draft, which happens in Spring 2026.
