Fever beat the Liberty

On Thursday night the New York Liberty played the Indiana Fever. The Liberty suffered another loss on Thursday advancing them to a 1-8 record. The Liberty played hard and continued to improve on defense, however, it was not good enough. The Fever outplayed the Liberty in all four quarters and was victorious in the end. The Indiana Fever beat the New York Liberty 86 to 79.

The New York Liberty

The New York Liberty have been struggling this season. They have been losing back to back games and that has not been good for the team morale. However, with every loss, there is a lesson. The Liberty improved from Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks. The Liberty’s leading ladies from Thursday night’s game are the following; Kia Nurse, Kiah Stokes, and Jazmine Jones. Kia Nurse led the Liberty in points. Nurse played for 31 minutes and within those 31 minutes, she scored 21 points. Kiah Stokes led the team in rebounds. Stokes played for 36 minutes and within those 36, she had eight rebounds. Jazmine Jones tied with Kiah Stokes for assists. Jones played for 24 minutes and within those 24 minutes, she had three assists.

The Indiana Fever

Thursday night the Fever played hard all game. The Fever beat the Liberty and now have a 5-5 record. The Fever’s leading ladies are the following; Tiffany Mitchell, Teaira McCowan, and Julie Allemand. Tiffany Mitchell led the Fever in points. Mitchell played for 33 minutes and scored 19 points. Teaira McCowan led the team in rebounds. McCowan played for 19 minutes and within those 19 minutes, she had an impressing 13 rebounds. Julie Allemand led the team in assists. Allemand played for 34 minutes and within those 34 minutes, she had five assists.

After the Fever beat the Liberty, both teams will be hitting the court this afternoon. The Indiana Fever will play the Los Angeles Sparks at 2 pm EST. Right after the Fever’s game, the New York Liberty will be playing the Minnesota Lynx at 6 pm EST.
