Aces beat the Liberty

Last night the New York Liberty played the Las Vegas Aces. The Liberty suffered their seventh loss this season, however, this loss was different. They kept up with the Aces for the majority of the game, which is an improvement. Both teams demonstrated a lot of heart and were equal in execution throughout the whole game, however, the strong team was victorious. The Las Vegas Aces beat the New York Liberty 78 to 76.

The New York Liberty

The New York Liberty had another tough loss last night. The team’s spirits changed after getting their first win against the reigning champions Washington Mystics on Friday. The Liberty made some improvements on defense and they played well. The Liberty’s leading ladies are the following; Amanda Zahui B., Kiah Stokes, and Layshia Clarendon. Amanda Zahui B. led her team in points. Zahui B. played for 26 minutes and within those 26 minutes, she scored 20 points. Kiah Stokes led the Liberty in rebounds. Stokes played for 34 minutes and had 12 rebounds. Layisha Clarendon led in assists. Clarendon played for 34 minutes and within those 34 minutes, she had eight assists.

The Las Vegas Aces

The Las Vegas Aces played hard last night. They were able to just barely pull the victory against the Liberty. The Aces leading ladies are the following; A’ja Wilson, Jackie Young, and Sugar Rodgers. A’ja Wilson led her team in points. Wilson played for 39 minutes, within those 39 minutes, she scored 31 points. Jackie Young led her team in rebounds. Young played for 32 minutes and within those 32 minutes, she had seven rebounds. Sugar Rodgers and Jackie Young tied in leading assists for the Aces. Sugar Rodgers played for 17 minutes and within those 17 minutes, she had three assists.

The Aces beat the Liberty however the Liberty made some big improvements that should change future competitors’ views. The Aces will be back in action tomorrow night against the Indiana Fever at 7 pm EST. The Liberty will be back tomorrow night. They will be going up against the Los Angeles Sparks at 10 pm EST.
