Jade Cargill Made Her Presence Known in SmackDown Debut

Without question, Jade Cargill is one of the biggest free-agent signings for the WWE and is a star in the making. She signed with the company last September as it generated massive attention on social media. Before signing with the company, she held the TBS Championship for 508 days at AEW.

In January, she debuted in WWE at the Women’s Royal Rumble match as her strength was on full display. It boiled down to which brand the superstar would make her debut on. It was announced that Cargill would join the SmackDown roster and made it official.

Jade Cargill is Officially a SmackDown Superstar

SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis stood in the middle of the ring at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with the contract. He introduced Cargill as the brand’s newest addition with the crowd in full excitement. Once her music hit, she made her way down the aisle while interacting with the fans. The entrance could be felt both in the arena and by those watching at home.

The Vero Beach, Florida native made two points that are worthy of note in her promo. First, Cargill acknowledged that SmackDown has one of the best female rosters in the world but they are not her. Second, she mentioned that she is a once-in-a-lifetime superstar. However, her first night on SmackDown was far from over.

Cargill Saves the Day in the Main Event of SmackDown

The final match of the night saw Bianca Belair face Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL. Belair picked up the win over Kai but Women’s Tag Team Champions, Asuka and Kairi Sane aka the Kabuki Warriors, attacked the EST of WWE. However, Naomi came from the back to help Belair but the numbers became too much as Kai, Asuka, and Sane went after her. In the end, a storm came to the rescue in the form of Cargill, taking out all three members of Damage CTRL.

SmackDown ended with Cargill, Naomi, and Belair standing tall in the ring as it was a moment that hit differently, myself included. Something special happened to see all three superstars in that ring, an image that will be forever etched in the minds of many fans.

Following the show, Aldis added a match to the WrestleMania 40 card. Cargill, Naomi, and Belair will face Kai, Asuka, and Sane. It will be Cargill’s first but far from the last match on the grandest stage of them all. Philadelphia better be ready with the storm hits Lincoln Financial Field next month.
