Excellent Games On Display in the AUSL

At the present time, the AUSL is giving fans at home and in the stadiums across the league much to watch. Whether it is the home runs or stellar defense, there is much to like with something for everyone. That being said, here is a recap of the action from the Lone Star and Beehive states.

Oklahoma City Spark Vs. Utah Talons

In the first game of this series, the offense got underway until the bottom of the third inning. Here, Jadelyn Allchin hit a two-run single as teammate Kailey Wyckoff added two RBIs with a double. Utah would put another run on the board as Aliyah Andrews scored on a wild pitch in the fifth.

Without question, that proved to be more than enough offense for pitcher Montana Fouts. Fouts tossed another complete game as she allowed four hits and an earned run that came via an RBI sacrifice fly by Grace Jenkins of the Sparks. Also, Fouts struck out five in the 5 – 1 Utah victory.

Similar to Game One, the bats did not get going until inning number three at Dumke Family Stadium. Once again, it was Utah as Jordan Woolery drove in two runs with a single. Additionally, Allchin hit an inside-the-park Grand Slam in the fourth that gave the Talons a 6 – 0 lead.

However, Oklahoma City would plate two runs in the fifth with groundout RBIs by Bubba Nickles-Camarena and Jessi Warren. Despite a Sydney McKinney RBI double in the sixth, Oklahoma City fell to Utah by a score of 6 – 3.

Chicago Bandits Vs. Texas Volts

If the Volts offense could be described in a word in their opening game versus the Bandits, it would be homers. On this occasion, every run by Texas came by way of the long ball at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Firstly, Aliyah Binford hit two home runs for a three-RBI performance. Secondly, Tiare Jennings, Michaela Edenfield, and Aminah Vega slammed solo homers for the Volts.

As for Chicago, the offense came from a Sami Williams RBI double and an Erin Coffel solo home run. Ultimately, it was all Texas as they picked up the 6 – 2 win at home.

Looking at Game Two, the Volts seemed to have picked up where they left off from the first game. In the second inning, Sierra Romero hit a three-run homer for the Volts.

Not to be outdone, Mac Barbara slammed a two-run shot in the fourth for Chicago in the top of the fourth. What’s more, Jalia Lassiter hit a two-run shot to left center for Texas in the bottom of the inning.

For the Volts, Rylie Boone added a run with a bunt single in the sixth as Williams hit a solo homer in the seventh for the Bandits. At the end of the day, the Volts won the game 6 – 4 as they swept the two games against the Bandits.
