Chicago Looks to Break Losing Streak As Candace Parker Returns

Candace Parker Returns

CP3 is back!!! During yesterday’s press conference, Chicago Sky Head Coach and GM James Wade revealed to me that Candace Parker is expected to make her home debut against the Indiana Fever. Chicago looks to break the losing streak as Candace Parker returns. However, the team released an updated injury report today stating Parker is now Probable (ankle) for tonight’s game against the Fever.

Parker, who has missed Chicago’s last 8 games with a nagging ankle injury; has only played one game so far for the Sky. Parker enters the game as the team leading scorer (16 ppg), shot blocker (2.0 bpg), and rebounder (8.0 rpg).

When we asked coach Wade about Parker’s rehab he had this to say:

“She practiced today and looked good so we expect her to play tomorrow it will be some rhythm and timing stuff, but she’s Candace Parker.”

Chicago will enter Wednesday on a seven game including losing five straight games at home.

Parker returning to the lineup will help Chicago’s offensive woes; Chicago ranked as a team ranks 12th in the WNBA in 2 point shooting percentage.

Chicago could also participate in 5×5 during practice; something they haven’t been able to do since the beginning of the season.

The three-game break also allowed newly acquired Rookie Dana Evans; to learn the team’s plays and to become acclimated with her new organization.

Chicago yet believes they’re a squad that can win a championship; Assistant Coach Tonya Edwards who was a part of a Charlotte Sting organization that started 1-10. And was still able to reach the WNBA Finals is proof of how a squad can turn their season around.

Chicago will look to avoid its worst start since 2012. And with championship aspersions still, on their minds, Chicago must start winning games now to have a shot at that chance: as Candace Parker returns to the lineup.
