Bianca and Sasha Astonishing at WrestleMania

Given that WrestleMania 38 is in the rear-view mirror, it’s time to give my thoughts on how the matches faired. Without a doubt, I loved each of the three matches that the superstars of WWE were involved in at WrestleMania.

To me, it was an absolute joy watching them do what they do best on the company’s biggest stage. That being said, here are my thoughts on the matches.

WrestleMania Night One: Bianca Belair (The EST) def. Becky Lynch (The Man) (c) (Raw Women’s Championship)

All things considered, a strong case could be made that this was, hands down, the best match of the night. This was a culmination of an amazing feud between two previous WrestleMania main eventers who gave it all. In this case, from the opening bell, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair went at it.

Furthermore, Lynch had a response for much of Belair’s offense. The Man hit a Man-Handle Slam on the steel steps outside the ring, but The EST entered the ring before the 10-count. In the end, Lynch went for another Man-Handle Slam, but Belair countered with the KOD to win the championship.

WrestleMania Night One: Charlotte Flair (c) def. Ronda Rousey (SmackDown Women’s Championship)

Since Ronda Rousey won the 2022 Royal Rumble, she got the main event of Night One of the pay-per-view. Ultimately, she chose SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, as her opponent. This match may not have had the same juice as the previous women’s title match, but it was still competitive nonetheless.

In the final analysis, this match felt as though it should’ve preceded Lynch vs. Belair because of the finish with the referee bump, but it was done to make sure that Rousey looked strong in the loss. This match was one of Rousey’s better matches in her run with WWE.

WrestleMania Night Two: Sasha Banks & Naomi def. Carmella & Queen Zelina (c) def Liv for Brutality and Natalya & Shayna Baszler

On this occasion, everyone in the match got in their move, which is always great to see in a match like this. Here, seeing the team of Liv for Brutality, which was the pair of Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, was great.

In the matchup, Morgan and Ripley hit continuous spots on the other six superstars. Also, Natalya and Shayna Baszler are a pair I’d love to see more of.

Surprisingly, the pace of this match was outstanding and Sasha Banks and Naomi came out on top, dethroning Queen Zelina and Carmella as champions.

On the positive side, Banks and Naomi winning could lead to many exciting storylines moving forward. On the negative side, only one team could win.

All in all, this was one of my favorite WrestleMania and these three matches played a pivotal role in that.
