Without question, the Breeze BC surprised many with their performance in Unrivaled Basketball. The roster featured much youth, embracing the nickname “The Youngins” for the squad. Led by head coach Noelle Quinn, this team exceeded much of the expectations given the aforementioned youth.

The captain was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and the 2026 Unrivaled Draft, Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers. Bueckers led the team in scoring with 22.1 points per game, which was also the fourth-best mark in Unrivaled. Additionally, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year placed second in assists with 5.5 per game.
Like Bueckers, Seattle Storm center Dominique Malonga made her debut in the league. Malonga made history on multiple occasions for the Breeze BC in the Unrivaled season. The second overall pick in that 2025 WNBA draft was the first player in league history to have consecutive double-doubles in their first two career games. What’s more, she became just the second player to dunk in an Unrivaled game back in January.
Next, Los Angeles Sparks guard Rickea Jackson joined the Youngins after spending the previous season with the Mist. Jackson led the Breeze BC from beyond the arc with 16 three-pointers, including multiple games with four. She shot a team-high 93 percent from the free-throw line as well.
Cameron Brink participated in her first full season in Unrivaled with the team. A member of the Lunar Owls BC, she sat out in 2025 after tearing the ACL in her left knee and recovery from surgery. The second overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft showed off her defensive prowess with 23 blocks, the second-most in the league.
Aari McDonald, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft, appeared in one game for the squad. The Atlanta Dream guard suffered a right lower extremity injury last month, missing the rest of the season. Golden State Valkyries guard Kate Martin, who played the 2025 season with the Laces BC, averaged six points and 3.2 rebounds per game for the Breeze BC.
Finally, guard Courtney Williams joined the team following a trade in February with the Vinyl BC. The Minnesota Lynx guard averaged 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Breeze BC Season Recap
The Youngins got off to an early 2-0 start to the season. However, they found themselves losing two straight games, including a heartbreaking four-point loss to then then-defending champion Rose BC. It was same pattern over the next four games with two wins and two losses to close out the month of January.
In February, they went 3-4 and yet found their way into the postseason, which included a win over the Rose BC in the first round. Heading to Brooklyn, they faced the Mist BC in the semifinals. Entering the fourth quarter, the Breeze BC held a 62 – 55 lead as they needed 73 or more to head to the Championship Game.
However, the Mist BC outscored them by an 18 – 7 margin in the fourth to win the game 73 – 69. Despite the loss, the future looks bright for the Youngins next season in Unrivaled.
