While Women’s College Basketball fans know Iowa State center Audi Crooks for her efforts on the court, she puts in the effort off the court. She was recently named the captain of the 2025-26 Allstate NACDA Winter Good Works Team. In 2015, Crooks launched the Audi Crooks Foundation in the view point that “potential should never be limited by lack of resources.”
Furthermore, the foundation’s mission statement is clear:
“To empower youth through access to education, athletics, and the arts—because every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their circumstances.”
Recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing the Associated Press All-American on her foundation and the long-terms goals for it.
Crooks On Her Foundation And Its Meaning to Her
When asked about how her foundation, Crooks mentioned how her Mother and upbringing played a huge role in its creation:
Also, I asked what the foundation means to her on a personal level. The Iowa State star center is candid as she mentions family and her community:
Crooks: “The kids are watching” on the importance of using one’s platform
Shifting gears a bit, I had the opportunity to ask Crooks how important it is for her and other student-athletes to use their platform. She mentions how social media and the media as a whole impacts the platform while emphasizing communities:
Lastly, Crooks was asked about her foundation and the long-term vision, noting growing beyond Ames, Iowa:
Crooks On the Court So Far This Season
Going to the hardwood, Crooks is getting it done for the Cyclones in dominant fashion. She is currently in top three in Women’s College Basketball in points per game and field goal percentage.
The two-time All-Big 12 star is second in points at Iowa State and holds the school record for the most points in a single game (47). What’s more, Crooks was named to the Naismith Trophy Late-Season Team last month.
All things considered, the greater the success on the court equates to a greater platform for her and the foundation. To learn more about the Audi Crooks Foundation, head to the website here.
